Diving Hin Dot

Hin Dot is a seldom dived spot due to its position and depth. It is not a suitable site to take diving students, so dive centers tend to avoid Hin Dot. In other words, that's great for us!

Hin Dot is a series of small pinnacles located at the mouth of Tonsai bay on Phi Phi Don. The top of the main pinnacle starts at 5 meters depth and descends down to 15 meters. 4 other pinnacles surround the main pinnacle and these are staggered at depths as deep as 25 meters. Visibility here can sometimes be poor but the upside is that it's usually teeming with all sorts of fish. Large schools of five lined snappers, glass fish, and cardinal fish, circle the pinnacles. Marauding schools of Jacks and Barracudas come in to prey on smaller fish. This dive should be planned during high slack tide periods to avoid strong currents.

Max Depth: 35m
Difficulty:Difficulty 4
The site is not marked, difficult to locate, and directly below a shipping lane.
Average Visibility: 15m
Coral health: Some deep water varieties of whip corals.
Fish variety: Occasional Nurse sharks, large schools of game fish likely.
